Saariselkä is what Tromsø would look like if Tromsø were in a national park instead of on a fjord — a small purpose-built tourism cluster surrounded by 2,500 km² of unlit boreal forest. The aurora-tour density is Tromsø-grade (Lapland Safaris, Nordic Unique Travels, Kota Collective), but the home-base sky is dark enough that you don't strictly need to leave town.
